THE SOLUBILITIES OF SOME VERTEBRATE FIBRINOGENS IN PLASMA-ETHANOL MIXTURES

PETER R. MORRISON 1, CHARLES SCUDDER 1, and WILLIAM BLATT 1

1 Departments of Physiology and Zoology, University of Wisconsin, Madison 6, Wisconsin

The precipitation and solubility of fibrinogens from plasmas of four vertebrate classes by ethanol at 0° C. and 0.15 ionic strength was investigated. A regular series showing increasing solubility was observed as one went from mammals down through the lower classes.
