ESTROGENS IN MARINE INVERTEBRATES

1. An enzymatic method of assay for estrogens suitable for use with crude tissue extracts is described.

2. Of a variety of marine invertebrates examined, only the ovaries of the mollusc, Mactra (Spisula) solidissima, contained appreciable amounts of estrogenic material.
