A RADIOACTIVE TRACER STUDY OF FOOD UPTAKE BY PINNOTHERES MACULATUS IN MOLLUSCAN HOSTS

Adult, female specimens of Pinnotheres maculatus accumulated radioactivity when in bay and calico scallops fed Nitzchia closterium labeled with 14C and in blue mussels fed labeled Thalassiosira pseudonana. Crabs accumulated radioactivity when kept in fingerbowls with labeled N. closterium.
