For any given temperature of egg-laying, there are no significant differences in rate of oviposition between females that have been bred at that temperature, and those that have been bred at 25° C.
The rate of egg-laying (as measured by the number of eggs laid per day) starts low, rises to a maximum, and decreases.
The rate for the middle period of egg-laying is practically constant.
The rate of egg-laying is related to temperature according to the Arrhenius equation.
