Ninety-degree rotation of the confocal stack in Figure 1E to produce Figure 1F. In the first frame, which is perpendicular to the foot, arrows indicate typical immunoreactive organelles. When these are followed through the 90-degree rotation, they become immunoreactive rods at the level of the axon that is shown in the first frame. Rotation is in 10-degree increments. The ventral surface of the foot is to the right in the last, fully rotated frame. Thickness of the stack is 5.1 µm, which is the width of the final rotated frame.
